Newcomer/Inquirer Class & Confirmation
Each year Calvary offers an Inquirer’s class for those seeking to know more about the Episcopal church. Adults and youth over sixteen years of age may be received or baptized into the church after completing this class. This year’s class will be taught during the Sundays of Lent, between worship services, starting on Sunday, March 13th, 2011. Bishop Smith will lead the first class; Fr. Jacobson will lead class during the remaining weeks. Please phone the parish office for further details. This class is open to all who are interested, and is required for all those seeking confirmation.

Calvary Men’s Group
The Calvary Men’s Group is a forum, strictly for men, to meet in fellowship and talk about spiritual and personal matters. We have read, among other books, Christianity and the Crisis of Cultures by Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI. We think about what we are reading, air our views, share our experiences, argue with the author, and find Christian guidance. It is a good place to develop new friends and relationships. We meet every Saturday morning at 11:00 for a one-hour session in Room 101.
Daughters of the King
Daughters of the King is a prayer and service organization for women in the Episcopal Church. The St. Agatha chapter, chartered in 2006, meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Red Tent Women
The Red Tent Women, a book discussion group for women, opens the tent flap each fall for a great semester of reading, discussion and fellowship! Recent books have included Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and Barbara Brown Taylor’s Leaving Church. The Red Tent Group meets the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the church.
Thursday Bible Study
The Thursday Bible Study reads and studies the Bible together, one book at a time. The group meets on Thursdays at 1:30 and is open to anyone.
Resources
The Library
Calvary boasts a well-stocked library with a substantial collection of books for youth and adults as well as a number of religious journals.
The library is managed by a committee that selects new books as they become available, receives donations, and manages circulation of materials. The committee also conducts an annual book sale and uses the proceeds to purchase new books for the collection and to continue subscriptions for periodicals.
