Rev. Cathy Ellen Rosenholtz to Join Calvary Staff Full Time

We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Cathy Ellen Rosenholtz will join Calvary’s staff full-time as Associate to the Rector, beginning July 1.  Pastor Cathy, a Columbia native, is already well-known to our congregation, as she has been serving for the last two years in a part-time role.  In her new role Pastor Cathy will continue with many of her current responsibilities, and take on some new ones as well.  Pastor Cathy brings considerable talent and a rich variety of experience, as you will see from her bio.  Welcome aboard Cathy!

Pastor Cathy was educated in the Columbia Public Schools (Russell Elementary, West Junior, and Hickman), graduating in 1983. She received her A.B. in Philosophy and Religion from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges in 1987 and her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 1991.  She attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia from 1992 to 1994, specializing in liturgical studies. Ordained in 1997, she served churches in the Metropolitan New York Synod of the ELCA until returning home to Columbia in 2008 to be near her family. Her church work has also included a year in the Lutheran Volunteer Corps, a year as a hospital chaplain, a summer leading the Lutheran-Episcopal Ministry at M.I.T., and service on the ELCA Commission for Women steering committee, and the Metro New York Synod Worship Committee. Pastor Cathy is currently a doctoral student at Mizzou in Communication, with a focus on the public voice of religion in politics. She is grateful for the congregation of Calvary Episcopal Church, and for Called to Common Mission, which makes her ministry here possible!
