A Christian Conversation on Race and Racism

Calvary Episcopal Church Parish Hall
Tuesday, September 13
7:00 pm
Refreshments from 6:30 pm
Calvary is hosting a public dialogue with local clergy on race, racism and the Church.  The event is organized by Calvary’s Dismantling Racism group and is open to the community.
The dialogue will begin with discussion by invited clergy and will then open for general discussion.  Father Knute will be joined by three other panelists:  Rev. Dr. Cassandra Gould (Quinn Chapel AME, Jefferson City), the Rev. Heather M. McCain (New Horizons United Methodist, Columbia) and Rev. Dr. C. W. Dawson (Dawson Journeys Ministry, Columbia).  The panel will be moderated by our very own Dr. Daive Dunkley, who is Professor of Black Studies at MU.
Together we will consider both the Church’s complicity and the ways churches have and can work to combat racism and to fulfill Dr. King’s vision of the “Beloved Community.”  Please spread the word!
