As the semester ends and the summer begins, I’m reminded of a classic prayer for guidance from the Book of Common Prayer. It opens: Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings with your most gracious favor, and further us with your continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in you, we may glorify your holy Name… (BCP 832). Just so: as some things end and other things begin, we pray you may find abundant life and a deep awareness of God’s love in all your work–begun, continued, and ended. Amen.
