What We Believe

As Episcopalians, we believe and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. We find our salvation through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.

The Episcopal Church embraces a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; people of all genders and sexual orientations serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy work together in leadership and governance.

What to Expect on Sundays at Calvary

Whether you’re wearing jeans and a T-shirt or a coat and tie, you’ll feel comfortable worshiping at Calvary.

We have two services each Sunday:

  • Our 8 a.m. service is Rite I Holy Eucharist, which is a spoken service (no music) that uses traditional language. It is quiet, with language that connects us to our faith history. It includes Holy Communion and a sermon.
  • Our 10:30 a.m. service is Rite II Holy Eucharist, which features more contemporary language. It includes hymns and an anthem accompanied by organ or piano, along with a sermon and Holy Communion. This service is also livestreamed on our YouTube channel.

We invite you to join us between services at 9 a.m. for our coffee hour in the parish hall. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends!

A Guide to Parking at Calvary

As a downtown church, we rely mostly on-street parking.

We have two accessible parking spaces on 9th Street, directly in front of the church. We also have a small number of spaces available in the lot behind the church off 8th Street. We like to reserve these for people with limited mobility. We also offer valet parking to those who need assistance.

Street parking is available throughout the downtown area. It’s free on Sundays!

Parking garages are also free on Sundays. You’ll find several close to the church at these intersections:

  • 8th and Walnut
  • 8th and Cherry
  • 6th and Cherry
  • 10th and Cherry
  • 5th and Walnut
